[ EDIT: Comments locked 'cos I'm getting pissed off ]

Three stories from today's "Sunday Telegraph" (a UK national newspaper)

1) http://www.telegraph.co.uk/news/main.jhtml?xml=/news/2005/05/29/nslap29.xml
Kids go around slapping adults, recording it on phones with builtin cameras, then trade or upload the resulting videos to websites. Problem has escalated and now someone is tied up and tortured. What the hell is happening with society, that physical assault ("happy slapping") is now considered acceptable and even fun by kids?

2) http://www.telegraph.co.uk/news/main.jhtml?xml=/news/2005/05/29/ntag29.xml
BBC has a popular program which seems to "glamourise" grafiti artists, and has apparently had the effect of encouraging kids to start doing more. Well, I guess repsect for other peoples property died a long time ago, but why is the BBC promoting such behaviour?

3) http://www.telegraph.co.uk/news/main.jhtml?xml=/news/2005/05/29/nbooth29.xml
Man fined 2000 pounds by "discrimination police" because he wouldn't let out a camping site plot to some disabled people at a specific time because (as he says) the site wasn't suitable at that time, and he was willing to let it out later when the site was suitable. Bureaucracy gone mad.

I'm beginning to think that protected communities and isolationist attitudes might be the only way to protect oneself and ones family from the barbarians all around!

I have a house. Closing took a whole 30 minutes and too many signatures.

Aren't I supposed to be happy, now?
