I loved that show as a kid and wanted to be one, so much! Was very disappointed when I turned out to have no telepathy or ability to jaunt.
Last week I found seasons 1 and 2 in a box set; wow, I didn't even realise it'd ever made it to the US!
Ow wow... those voices! Could they have got a group of people with any more "correct" accents? And this wasn't even the BBC :-) I also didn't remember the educational parts, where TIM describes something for Stephen or Kenny, and incidentally teaches the audience... maybe that'd disappeared by later seasons. I don't remember ever seeing these episodes, from 1973 and 1974. And now, finally, I understand the hand image from the opening credits!
Oh to be Homo Superior...
As a kid I also had some books of the series; I remember one story which had Stephen going to a Scottish school. Well, that story is also the last story on these disks ("The Doomsday Men") but I'm sure the book had a part where Stephen was chained up in a dungeon in a Scottish castle, and stretched on a rack, but that didn't happen in the TV program. Or maybe my memory is confusing two different stories!
