Exercise!

I've been lazy around all day just watching TV (Blakes 7 season 2, episodes 1 to 11 so far) rather than doing things I should be doing (cleaning the bathroom, hoovering.... although I did wash clothes, sheets, towels, dishes and did some tidying up) so as "penance" I exercised.

My heart beat started off pretty low (under 80, which is low for me after doing preparation for exercise) and it took over a minute to get into target rate (120bpm) doing over 9mph. Normally I start around 8.0mph. Once I was into range I slowed down. After 10 minutes the heart rate monitor started beeping at me again, and I noticed is was over 156bpm. Huh? I checked the elliptical... oh, I'd been averaging over 8.6mph for that time! Whoops! So I forced myself slower and HRM went down to 144bpm or so. Except at 30 minutes it beeped again... and I'd still been averaging 8.2mph. How odd, I can't normally keep up that fast! Indeed, I was having trouble keeping below 8mph for the whole time, so the HRM kept sending alarms on and off during the exercise period. After the episode of Enterprise finished I was at 5.8 miles, and I decided to ignore the HRM and pushed up to almost 9mph until I reached 6 miles. Since I wasn't breathing very hard, I guessed I was still in aerobic exercise despite being out of the calculated target zone.

6.0 miles. 44:19 (so 8.1mph av), 148bpm, 41:07 in zone, 805Kcals

Huh, I normally seem to average 7.7 or 7.8mph with heart rate around 144bpm. That's not too bad! Although I was out of zone a little more often than normal.

After a nice long shower, I don't even feel that worn out.
