Staggering evidence

I was burning some data DVDs today (Fedora Core 2 is out of support so I burnt off my archive of updates, just in case I'll ever need 'em again) and I spotted a "Unknown USB device" bubble pop up and disappear. I think that front panel is definitely playing up.
