Memorial Park
May. 23rd, 2015 02:12 pmThere's a park in my town which has a pool in it. It's not too far off one of my normal walks, so I thought I'd wander off that way

The park backs onto the Passaic River, and there's a launch spot used for kayaking. I spotted a couple of baseball pitches, some "street hockey" courts (with a sign telling people to not use them for soccer!), a war memorial (that the park is named after) and a pool. The pool has a sandy beach and bottom, with a deep end and some slides and stuff.
There's a sign that tells people not to swim in it outside of the pool season. Somehow I don't think there's much chance of that!

Add in walking around the store and the total walk was around 6 miles. My average speed was slower (around 3.8mph) because of slow ambling around the park.
