Decisions decisions
Jan. 22nd, 2006 09:54 pmGot some Ikea Billy bookshelves yesterday, and extra shelves and height extensions. This basically means each of 4 bookshelves has 9 shelves of 30", so I have 1080" of bookshelf space. I have just over 1 shelf left blank. Unfortunately some of the shelf heights only take standard size paperbacks. That probably accounts for 95% of my books, but I have about 45 books that are taller than normal (and 19 of those are Pratchett Discworld hardbacks). Currently I have them laying on the long edge, spine upwards. This makes it hard to read the title of the book, but it does mean that they can be placed in order. The other alternative I can think of is to place all the big books together at the top of two shelves (where the height extensions are, and so are the tallest shelves). Then I'll be able to see all the spines, but books will be out of order.
