I didn't re-up my PAYG cellphone (Verizon FreeUp) in time and so the credit expired. I bought a new $30 card today and the system told me my new balance was $30. Bugger. It was $347 on Sunday. Crap crap crap.
So I phone the helldesk and the droid who spoke to me was helpful and checked and I was eligible for getting the credit back because I've been a customer for a long time and because I've never done this before (so if I do it again then I'm screwed). However she could only authorise $50 and her supervisor could only authorise $150, so they have to submit the request to corp for processing. Hopefully by next Monday I'll have my credit back!
In a way, it wouldn't have hurt too much; it's $30 every 60 days; essentially $15/month. It's hard to get a contract phone for that much and, clearly, I don't make $15 of calls (at $0.30/min or something like that) a month so I could just have considered the credit to be minimal contract costs anyway.
Damn, first time in over 4 years that I'd forgotten to put money onto the phone. That's annoying.
