sweh | The cost of American healthcare

While I was a JPMC employee, my insurance premiums were $130/month. Since I'm between jobs I've just signed up for COBRA (which allows me to keep on the same insurance for up to 18 months, but I have to pay the whole insurance cost). It's now $580/month. Guh.

I wonder how long it'll take for all the different companies to update; the insurance company says coverage terminated 5/31 but people normally get 2 months to agree to sign up for COBRA... hopefully it'll refresh on Monday or Tuesday. Fortunately I don't have any planned appointments until July!

I hate American healthcare...
