Ah yes, "never"

I log into LiveJournal and select the "Never logout" option... and months later I notice that I don't see any locked entries. Hmm. Oh, I'm not logged in. Gee. Turns out the "never" option appears to set a cookie for some small period like 2 months (I forget the exact value). Some strange definition of "never"!

No doubt this is documented in a FAQ or something somewhere...

Stability?

Who knows. Pulled the internal USB cables around and plugged them back in... and the machine seems stable again.

Dare I risk plugging the scanner back in again? Hmm...

And it seems the wireless mouse adapter doesn't work overly well with the Belkin KVM switch; it's frequently lost communication. The wireless keyboard still works so I guess the switch is sending some mouse-reset sequence when changing servers and this is confusing the poor adapter. Hmm...
