Painting

Well, that was a tiring week. And I'm not too happy with the job. I made a bit of a mess dripping paint onto the floor (despite sheets; I didn't do a very good job! Especially with paint on the soles of shoes and me moving into an unprotected area... *sigh*) and the resulting whiteness is definitely "patchy" looking. But then I'm also not too unahppy, either. Could have been worse. And it's definitely cleaner than it was.

I took out the hideous orange striped carpet which had been placed on top of a green carpet. That orange thing hurt the eyes. The green one looks like it's had paint or something spilled on it in the past. It's a bit cruddy looking, but definitely better than the orange thing! Maybe I'll buy a new carpet for down there, and make sure it also goes into the back area, which has some ancient piece of carpet that looks like it came from a 60s bedroom. Yuck.

On the plus side, I walked down there just now to turn the lights off before going to bed and thought... "wow, this is a nice space!" It may not be as good as it could be, but it's orders of magnitude better than it was before.
