Can't sleep!
May. 24th, 2004 12:50 amI think the apartment upstairs has setup their air-con and I can hear it when it kicks in. But that's probably not stopping me sleeping. Similarly, a church down the road has just let out a bunch of people (at 00:40? Huh?!), but I doubt that's stopping me sleep either. These are just things I'm noticing because I'm awake.
Just can't sleep!
Thinking about yesterday's Call of Cthulhu game and how people seem to be impressed with the role playing I did. Not bad for a role-playing neophyte, I guess :-) It helps that the game mechanics were sufficiently new to enough people that I didn't feel I was dragging everyone back (Cthulhu doesn't use the d20 system, although there is now a d20 CoC game...) by asking stupid questions. It also helped that we have a large group of extremely varied talents (some very good role players to some at a level I felt comfortable at not being outclassed!) and, of course, it helps that Steve is a good DM who thinks quickly on his feet and creates a world that's pretty believable and expands to handle our most stupid ideas. I guess I fell into a good crowd to play my first RPG with :-)
So instead of sleeping, I'm tossing and turning in bed and replaying the scene. OK, maybe I'm a little proud of that moment :-)
But I'd much rather sleep!
