Pondering exercise
Aug. 14th, 2005 09:25 pmThe past three readings:
6.0 miles, 43:24 (so 8.3mph), 141bpm, 42:23 in zone, 672Kcals
6 miles, 44:06 (so 8.2mph), 148bpm, 42:26 in zone, 741Kcals
5.5 miles, 42:47 (so 7.7mph), 141bpm, 41:29 in zone, 657 Kcals
I wonder what it is between sessions that cause my heart to go higher or slower. Today I was every so slightly faster than Wednesday, but my heart averaged 5% slower (the HRM only beeped at me just as the exercise was finishing). I wonder if temperature has anything to do with it... today I had the air-con pointing directly at my back so I wasn't sweating as much. Of course, a lower heart rate means less energy burnt, so even though I worked just a little harder than before I burnt 70Kcals less.
In comparison this is the last reading from before my move:
6.5 miles, 47:03 (so 8.3mph), 141bpm, 46:35 in zone, 731 Kcals
Hmm, pretty close to current values. I should push out my exercise periods for longer, I suppose!
