So I spent the weekend painting a quarter of my basement. Ugh... I didn't do too good a job.
The basement was wallpapered. I didn't want to pull the wallpeper down, because I knew that the previous people would have used super-strenght glue (it had pulled down the plaster upstairs!!) so I painted over. It's vinyl wallpaper. I doesn't hold paint too well. From an angle it doesn't look too bad, but face on you can see darker patches. Eh. I used over a gallon of paint for something that shouldn't have been 2/3rd of that amount, and it looks pretty bad.
On the plus side it is just a basement and I can always use the Harris decorating motto; "at least it's clean!"
