I haven't exercised in a LONG time and have put on a lot of weight, so today I decided that I'd get back into the exercise and diet regime.
It's clear I'm not as fit as I was because my heart rate was over 110 just in getting ready and setting up the equipment. It quickly went to the top of the aerobic range, but even at a reasonable average speed (7.8mph) I didn't go above the zone for too long. Not too bad...
5.9 miles, 45:36 minutes (so 7.8mph), 152bpm av, 44:06 in zone, 868Kcals
I also wondered how quickly my heart recovered. 4 minutes after exercising it had dropped from 156 down to 109 which, I understand, is average for my age.
