Exercise

This week hasn't been a good week for exercise or diet! Monday was drinking with a friend; Tuesday had Tori over (and she wanted to meet in a pub 'cos of work); Wednesday was with Julie; Thursday was Thanksgiving; Friday was blah; Saturday was waiting most of the day for a Verizon man to fix my phone line, and then doing odd-jobs around the house. So I've been overeating and overdrinking and under-exercising.

My basement isn't that warm, either. I have a thermometer which is designed to measure inside temperates and, via a sensor on a wire, outside. I hung it on the wall near ceiling level, with the wire dangling down to almost floor level. The ceiling reads around 68F and the floor around 64F. No wonder my feet feel a little cold through my slippers if I spend a long time down there on the computers. Hmm. There is a seperate gas heater for the basement, but I don't want to use it yet (my gas bill for the past month was $120 as it is!).

So I had no idea how well I would do. Annoyingly, 2.5 minutes into the exercise I saw a fly on the wall, so I paused the clock and the DVD and then spent two minutes tracking it down and splatting it (what are flies doing around in November, anyway?!), then continued.

I wasn't doing a very fast speed, and after 35 minutes my heart went above the 85% mark, but came back down quickly and only popped over twice more.

5.5 miles, 42:58 (so 7.7mph), 145bpm, 41:35 in zone, 756Kcals.
