Exercise... sort of!
Jan. 10th, 2006 09:57 amI haven't gotten around to doing any real exercise for the past couple of months, and I got a cold and the holidays came and so on... and I've been lazy.
I've also had to move office. I'm now working in midtown Manhattan (270 Park Ave) which is a real pain in the rear end; you just can't easily get from the West side (Penn Station) to the middle-East side (Park and 47th) without hassle. When I lived in Brooklyn it would have been easy (just take the 4 or 5 to Grand Central), but now I'm in Jersey... bluh.
So I decided that, weather permitting (ie not raining or snowing or too hot... so that probably leaves 3 weeks a year in New York!) that I'd walk to/from Penn.
According to Google Maps that is about 1.4 miles. OK, so I don't walk that exact route, but since it's a grid it's pretty much 1.4 miles no matter what. The past two times it's taken me about 20 minutes, which I think is pretty good going, considering the slow meandering wandering of other pedestrians, and the lights at almost every corner.
So that's my exercise at the moment... almost 3 miles of walking :-)
