swehI mentioned to people that I had over 1000 trees trying to grow in my back garden. I got looks of disbelief.
Well, today I weeded the back flower bed. This runs the width of the garden and is about 3 feet deep (I think). I kept track of the wannabe trees that I pulled up. Well, I stopped counting at 403 because my knees were hurting and there wasn't much left, so I estimate I pulled up 450 trees. And that's no exaggeration.
The ones in the lawn I gave a headache by mowing them over. No idea how many were there.
So, yeah, in the whole back garden (still another 2 flowerbeds to do, yet, but one is mostly shaded by evergreens, plus the lawn) there could easily be 1000 trees. And that doesn't include the ones growing behind and to the side of the garage.
AND NONE OF THESE ARE MINE! They all came from the back-fence neighbours big bastard tree.
And don't get me started on the wild onions growing all over the garden. Bleh.
I knew there was a reason I paved over my garden in England!
